The Twyla Tharp Archive is a large collection of materials which document her creative career in dance, film and television. This includes Tharp's dance company, which was known by various names including Twyla Tharp and Dancers, Twyla Tharp Dance, Tharp!, Tharp Productions, and the Twyla Tharp Dance Foundation. The collection includes photographic materials, press reviews, newspaper clippings, posters, programs, audio visual materials, relating to Tharp's dance, film, and television works. Technical and production materials include music scores, lighting, costume and set designs, as well as costumes for many of Tharp's dances.

Twyla Tharp is American modern dancer and choreographer. She was born 1 July 1941 in Portland, Indiana and grew up in Rialto, California. She attended Pomona College and received the Bachelor of Arts degree from Barnard College in 1963. Mikhail Baryshnikov (1948- ) is a Russian-American dancer, choreographer and actor. Born in Riga, he received his early training at the Vaganova Academy in Leningrad. He joined the Kirov ballet in 1967. Recognizing his talent, Soviet choreographers soon began creating works for him.
